BUSINESS PROJECT ON MENTORSHIP IN THE ORGANIZATION

WHAT IS MENTOSHIP:

In the present scenario, youngsters tend to find it difficult to cope up with the organizational climate and stress of the work. In order to guide them in a proper way, the senior members of the organization have to take interest on them and guide them in a proper channel. This will help them to choose their path without infusing the mentees much. This activity of guiding, coaching, counselling is what Mentoring all about.

WHO ARE INVOLVED IN THIS:

Mentor and Protege(es) are involved in this process. Here Protegees can be more than one but should not cross the limit of three for a particular Mentor.

WHY MENTORING PROCESS IN ORGANIZATIONS:

  • It is a very effective tool of Employee Engagement
  • It will help the protegees to get the belongingness towards the organization and they will understand the mission & vision in a detailed way
  • Mentors will encourage the innovation part of the protegees and make them to implement that
  • Two ways learning can be done extensively. The differences in ideologies of senior and entry level employees will be solved
  • It will make the protegees to be confident of handling any issues which come their way
  • The probability of errors by the protegees is much lower since they have Mentors to guide them
  • Mentors will help them and coach them at appropriate times and will bring the confidence towards their mentors
  • The level of attrition will come down
  • It gives an immense opportunity for the Senior Executives to act as a guide which will help the younger generations to face the issues easily
  • Mentors will be in a position to guide them properly as they have already travelled in that particular path and thus they will teach the nuances of crossing the journey
  • Mentors do not have to get retired at the age of 58 or 60. If they are willing, they can act as mentor till they feel like
  • Counsel the protegees at the appropriate situations and make them confident to handle the issues in a positive eye

THE PROCESS IS DONE THROUGH

  • 1. Level 1 - Psychometric Assessment for all senior members for being Mentors
  • 2. Level 2 - Psychometric Assessment for all the Mid-Junior members for Protegees
  • 3. Level 3 - 1 day Training for Mentors on How to be a Mentor
  • 4. Level 4 - 1 day Training for Protegees on how to be a Protegee
  • 5. Level 5 - Pairing the Right Mentors to Right Protegees
  • 6. Level 6 - Follow-up Documents which will be given to HR for both Mentors & Protegees
